WHY SHOULD I GIVE TO NOROC?
Picture
Donating is a form of Love! NOROC's "Big-Hearted Grannies" and over 50 Romanian staff can share the work of their hands and hearts only when you pray, care and share.

Financial contributions from individuals, families, congregations, university and school groups, service clubs, and others help forge a circle of caring around each child.
WHAT ARE SOME EXAMPLES OF HOW NOROC SPENDS THE MONEY I DONATE?

Here's how your giving helps NOROC incarnate loving action:
  • $15 provides a month of psychological counseling for a child of trauma;
  • $20 provides a month of speech therapy for a child who struggles to communicate;
  • $75 supports a "Big-Hearted Granny" for a month of daily relationship with the youngest, including school readiness activities;
  • $100 sends one child to summer residential camp;
  • $50 sends one child to summer day-camp;
  • $1,300 helps one young adult attend a year of university;
  • $1,200 sponsors activities for one small group for one year. NOROC's goal is to have each child in a small "family group" of 8 or 10 children. Small group mentors nurture ongoing relationships. Groups go on local field trips, celebrate birthdays, do a crafts, sports, or cooking activity and spend quality time together. Small Group Sponsorships help donors feel personally connected to a cluster of children or youth.
  • $1,500 sponsors horse therapy day camp for 22 children for one week--five full days of grooming, riding instruction, horse therapy, ecological learning, outdoor free play, crafts and other therapeutic farm and garden activities.
WHAT ABOUT UKRAINIAN REFUGEES?
From a high point in Tulcea City, you can see our neighbor, Ukraine. When Russian troops invaded Ukraine, earlier this year, NOROC expand our focus. One of the border crossings from Ukraine in Romania is located only 20 miles from the city center. More than 200,000 Ukrainian refugees - mostly women and children - have crossed the Danube river by ferry, to enter our country and our city.
  • NOROC has become a vital part of the relief effort and has offered emergency care, food, and shelter for refugees as they try to recover and make decisions.
  • With the help of generous donors in the United States NOROC provides funds for housing, food, clothing, medical care, and emergent needs at several different location within the city and county.
  • Some Ukrainians have fled the cities of their country, but are relocating in camps and safer areas near the border on the Ukrainian side of the Danube river. NOROC is also providing food and basic necessities for these people who have chosen to stay in their own country but remain close to the border in case of an emergency.

I DO NOT LIKE TO GIVE FINANCIAL DONATIONS ONLINE. IS THERE ANOTHER WAY I CAN DONATE TO NOROC?
If you do not like to donate online, you are welcome to send a check to our US address:

NOROC
200 Hedges
Abilene, TX 79605
I DON'T WANT CREDIT CARD PROCESSORS TO GET ANY OF THE MONEY I DONATE, BUT I ALSO DO NOT WANT TO MAIL A CHECK. WHAT DO I DO?
An alternative to online giving is "online bill pay" through your bank. This giving option is the best of both worlds! You can give using an online service at no extra cost to yourself, and NOROC does not have to give a percentage of your contribution to a credit card company. Most, if not all, banks offer this service. Log into your bank online or call your bank for instructions.

You will need our address to set up "online bill pay":
